This time, let’s introduce the overall picture of the CFA exam. As you know, there are Levels 1 to 3, but each has a different focus. I haven’t really looked at the other sources but all I know is that the suggestions and recommendations given by the experts always work, so the following is my personal opinion based on experts advices, but please refer to it. Let’s proceed Level wise.
Level 1:“Introduction” to the CFA curriculum, but not “easy” at all. Get ready!
It is positioned as an “introduction” to the CFA curriculum. Creates a foundation for conducting finance-related operations. It’s a foundation or basic knowledge, but experts suggest that it doesn’t mean “easy.” With so many subjects, Level 1 is also a challenge for those who have never systematically studied finance. Also, even young people who work at financial institutions may not be practicing all subjects, so some subjects will start from scratch. Keep it in your mind that experts who cleared the CFA examination suggest to don’t take the CFA level 1 examination too lightly. Also, if you fail Level 1, you will probably be worried about the future. At Levels 2 and 3, it becomes even more difficult, so you might wonder, “I’m prepared at Level 1, but can I break through to Level 3?” Let’s prepare thoroughly.
Level 2: Ability as an analyst is required
Level 2 is just a Valuation exam. You can price everything. In other words, the ability as an analyst is questioned. In my experience, I didn’t use the calculator much in the Level 1 exam, but in Level 2 I kept hitting the calculator. Anyway, Level 2 tests the quantitative analysis skills that analysts need. Therefore, passing Level 2 will lead to a certain degree of credibility and will be a weapon in your career. It is advisable and important to enroll for CFA Mock Test Series for better preparation for your examination.
Level 3: Ability as a fund manager is required
Half of the exams are portfolio management, so your ability as a fund manager is required. If you are a young person, I don’t think there are many fund managers, so it can be said that this is an exam to prepare for becoming a fund manager. It’s about creating an optimal portfolio in consideration of the various circumstances of the client. The former aspirants who had cleared the CFA level 3 exam and occupy respectable positions in well-known and world-famous organizations said Level 3 was a “fun exam”, but I was also interested in studying.
After getting CFA, it will be bad if you don’t keep improving your English. As long as you are a CFA, you should expect some level of English proficiency. However, let’s pass the CFA first. The expected English proficiency can be managed after passing the CFA, and it will be much easier to improve the English proficiency than to pass the CFA exam.
